BPC-157 Dosing Guide: How Much, How Often, How Long

BPC-157 (Body Protection Compound 157) is a synthetic peptide derived from a protein found in human gastric juice. It's the go-to healing peptide in the lifter community for tendon, ligament, muscle, and gut repair. This guide covers practical dosing, reconstitution, injection sites, and common stack pairings — everything you need to actually run a protocol.

Standard dosing

The most common BPC-157 protocol is 250 mcg twice daily, subcutaneous, for 4–8 weeks. This is what most experienced users run for typical injury recovery (tendon strain, ligament tweak, muscle pull).

  • Healing dose: 250 mcg 2× daily SubQ
  • Maintenance: 250 mcg daily SubQ (lower frequency)
  • Aggressive recovery: 500 mcg 2× daily for 2–4 weeks
  • Cycle length: 4–8 weeks typical, sometimes 12 weeks for chronic issues

Site selection

Conventional wisdom is to inject BPC-157 close to the injury site — the peptide is thought to act locally as well as systemically. So if you're rehabbing a tennis elbow, inject the upper forearm. Knee injury? Inject around the patellar tendon. Shoulder impingement? Inject the front delt.

If you can't inject near the injury (e.g. it's a deep joint or you're squeamish), abdominal or thigh SubQ works fine — BPC-157 has demonstrated systemic effects too.

Reconstitution math

BPC-157 typically ships as a 5 mg vial. Most users add 2 ml of bacteriostatic water for a 250 mcg per 10 units (0.1 ml) concentration.

Quick math: 5 mg = 5000 mcg. 5000 mcg ÷ 2 ml = 2500 mcg/ml. On a 100-unit insulin syringe, 1 unit = 25 mcg. So 250 mcg = 10 units.

Common stack pairings

BPC-157 + TB-500

TB-500 (Thymosin Beta-4) complements BPC-157 by promoting cell migration and angiogenesis. Common protocol: BPC 250mcg 2× daily + TB-500 5mg weekly (loading: 5mg 2×/week for 4 weeks, then 5mg weekly maintenance).

BPC-157 + GH peptides

Some users stack BPC with Ipamorelin or CJC-1295 for both healing and recovery enhancement. The peptides don't interfere with each other but you're now running multiple injections per day.

Storage

Reconstituted BPC-157 should be refrigerated and used within 28 days. Lyophilised (unmixed) vials are stable at room temperature for years but should be refrigerated for long-term storage.

What to expect

Anecdotally, lifters report improvement in chronic tendon issues within 2–3 weeks of starting a 250mcg 2× daily protocol. Acute injuries respond faster (often within days). The peptide doesn't replace rest, mobility work, or proper rehab loading — it accelerates the recovery you're already driving with those.
